General Information
ARRIVAL We work with a Saturday change-over day. The cottage will be ready by 4.00 pm; We will do our best to accommodate you should you wish to arrive earlier in the afternoon. In the low season, we will also consider Friday and Monday changeovers.
PETS We welcome well behaved dogs. Please advise at time of booking.
BABIES & TODDLERS Nursery equipment, for example high-chairs, stair gates and travel cots, is available free of charge - please request at time of booking. We have a number of socket protectors, but it is up to you to ensure the cottage is ‘child-proofed’ to your own standards. We do not provide cot bedding as this is up to personal preference.
SMOKING For the safety and comfort of all guests, the cottage is a non smoking environment.
All Heating and Lighting is included in rental price.
DUVETS, LINEN & TOWELS are provided at no extra charge. All beds have Dorma duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets. Linen and towels are changed weekly. The king size room has a feather and down duvet all seasons duvet. Please advise at time of booking if you have allergies and we will provide a hollow fibre duvet.
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS we provide a selection of cleaning materials except washing powder.
CLEANING all cottages are thoroughly cleaned and checked prior to your arrival and we ask you to leave the property as you found it. Should it not be left clean and tidy, we reserve the right to make a surcharge.
CLEANING SERVICE have a break from housework while on holiday! Just pack your bags and leave. For a small additional charge we will do the extra work.
BREAKAGES and damage must be reported immediately. Spills and stains, especially on fabric and carpets, should be treated at once to avoid lasting damage.
CANCELLATION INSURANCE is available for guests normally resident in UK. Other guests are advised to arrange their own insurance. Insurance cover is strongly recommended as we will not refund on cancellation or curtailment of the holiday.
DEPARTURE is requested by 10.00 am unless otherwise agreed.
Booking Procedure
Although we try to keep the availability calendar totally up to date, please either phone or email to ascertain availability for the period you require. Should you wish to make a reservation, we will email a booking confirmation form to you.
Paying Your Deposit
We will hold the cottage for you for a maximum of one week from when we send the confirmation form to you. A booking is only secure when the confirmation form and deposit of £100 have been returned. If the booking is to commence within 6 weeks, the full amount is payable.
Paying your balance
The balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. It may be paid by cheque, or directly into our bank account. We will email a reminder to say the balance is due shortly so that you do not miss this date. If the balance is not received, we will contact you by mail or phone. If it becomes overdue, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and try to re-let the property.
Key Collection
If you wish to go directly to the cottage, we will notify you of the key location in the week prior to your holiday. If however you are driving through Elgin, en route to Burghead, you are very welcome to come and say hello to us, and pick up the keys from the Pines Guest House |
